Glass packaging
Before you transport glass, you need to decide on the type of packaging materials.
The choice depends on the design of the transported things:
if mirrors are to be transported, they need to be wrapped in a pimply film in 2-3 layers, then packed in corrugated cardboard and tightened with a film. Each layer is fixed with adhesive tape;
separate sheets, shelves and other flat fragments are glued with simple or masking tape, stacked in piles of 4-6 pieces and additionally fixed with plastic wrap. Corners must be fixed with special plastic fasteners;
large-sized glass sheets are correctly not only glued, but also packed in hard cardboard;
small fragile glass items are best wrapped in cloth or cotton wool. An alternative option is laying in foam in a rigid box;
if it is not possible to use adhesive tape for flat objects, you can paste them with newspapers.
Glasses of large size are completed in medium-sized packs, small items can be transported in boxes, on substrates, individually on special fasteners. The combination of several types of containers will help to carry out transportation without loss.
How to transport furniture with glass and mirrors
remove glass from cabinet furniture and frames. Remove the fittings and put them in a separate bag or box and sign;
Sort the slides by size into stacks of four. Lay paper or cardboard between the glasses. Glasses can be packed separately.
wrap stacks or individual glasses with bubble wrap and tie tightly with tape. Pay special attention to the corners;
when transporting between stacks, lay paper;
if you lower the windows to the ground, be sure to put cardboard under them. Lower smoothly and carefully only vertically and edgewise;
transport exclusively in an upright position on edge;
when transporting a large number of items or glass with a length of more than two meters and a width of one meter, it would be reasonable to order a separate transport.
